Acceptable Use Policy
Last updated April 2026
Custodia exists to support careful, honest stewardship of land. This policy describes uses that are not compatible with that purpose.
You may not use Custodia to
- Conceal, falsify, or fabricate ecological data, monitoring records, or volunteer hours.
- Expose the precise locations of threatened or endangered species in ways that risk poaching, vandalism, or habitat damage.
- Harvest, scrape, or resell another organization's data without their consent.
- Send unsolicited bulk messages, phishing attempts, or malware.
- Impersonate another person, organization, or land trust.
- Violate intellectual property, privacy, or applicable environmental laws.
- Interfere with the Service's infrastructure, including circumventing rate limits or RLS controls.
Reporting abuse
If you believe someone is using Custodia in violation of this policy, please email abuse@custodia.land with as much detail as you can share.
Enforcement
We may warn, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate this policy, with severity proportional to the violation. Egregious violations (data fabrication, species endangerment, illegal activity) may result in immediate termination without warning.
